Wild Tales (Movie Review)

This crazy movie about revenge is a film by Pedro Almadóvar (Volver, Broken Embraces) and directed by  Damián Szifron (On Probation, Bottom of the Sea) is probably one of the weirdest and most creative movie I have seen. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, I feel that many people would not if they have not been to Argentina or don’t like dark humour. You can tell this is an artistic film from the very beginning, purely from the opening sequence. The Spanish title is ‘Relatos Salvajes’, literally Wild Stories because this film really is a collection of wild stories.

This film tells the tales of six ultimate revenges. A man crashes a plane full of everyone he hates into his parents house. Two men kill each other because one couldn’t pass the other on the road. A chef murders a loan shark. A man blows up a towing truck. A man almost gets away with fraud. And the grand finale; the ultimate wedding row.

The subtitles went past very fast but I am a fairly slow reader so it might have just been me. And sometimes the story was a tiny bit confusing.

Artistic Impression: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Enjoyment: 🌟🌟🌟⭐️

Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
