Central Intelligence (Movie Review)

Just like the tag line, this movie is silly and stupid but if you let go of your dignity is rather funny. Neither Kevin Hart nor Dwayne Johnson’s best work, this movie ranks at a mere 6.6 out of 10 on IMDb. Starring Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Eye in the Sky), Dwayne (the Rock) Johnson (Furious 7, San Andreas), and Kevin Hart (Ride Along, Get Hard), this movie was presented to be much better than it actually was.

When accountant Calvin Joyner (Hart) gets a friend request and meets up with and old highschool classmate Robby Wierdick (now Bob Stone) (Johnson), he is unwillingly pulled into a chase from the CIA to find missing satellite codes.

After their first meeting in the bar (between Bob and Calvin), while walking out to the motorbike (and after the ride), Bob goes from sneakers to open sandals and back.

When Calvin first logs onto the website and finds out its an auction finishing in 14 hours time, it is approximately 11pm so that would mean the auction would finish at 1pm the next day but it doesn’t seem to finish for at least 24 hours if not 36 hours.

Artistic Impression: ⭐️

The first joint-venture between Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures after twenty years, since Twister (1996).

Throughout the movie Johnson can be seen wearing a fanny pack. This is reference to a meme showing him wearing one.

Dwayne Johnson has plans to run for president in the next election.

Dwayne Johnson’s character is called Bob Stone, a reference to his wrestling stage name ‘The Rock’

Aaron Paul repeatedly says ‘Bitch’ in this movie, a jab at his role in Breaking Bad as Jesse.
